The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (HR.35.90) was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.  Most of the new law will goes into effect in 2014.  Employers with up to 50 employees will have to buy insurance coverage for their employees from a state health exchange.  Also, under this law employers will be liable for an unlimited amount of health insurance cost.  They will no longer be limited to under $750,000 (under the mini-med plans).
