Money
transfer Scam:
You’ve heard
of the Nigerian Letter Scam. This is how it works. Someone
sends you an email asking you to help them get money out of
the country by transferring it from their account to yours.
They promise you a commission, typically 15%, for receiving
money into your bank account and then transferring it out
again. It’s a crude way of gaining your bank account
details. Once they have the details of your account they
then begin to steal money from your account.
Protect your business:
1. Whenever you receive an offer like that do a sanity
check with someone else. Ask them if it sounds too good
to be true. If it is, don’t do it.
2. Ask yourself, would transfer large sums of money
into a stranger’s account and give them 15% on top of it
and trust that they will give you back the 85%. |
