These organizations provide different types of financing that is targeted to Native American businesses.  If you have problems obtaining financing through the normal sources, these are sources that you can turn to.  Take advantage of them to get your business the financing it needs to move forward.

ACCION USA

ACCION USA provides Mciro-loan financing to small businesses (often minority and women owned businesses).  They provide funding in the amount of $500 to $50,000 to small businesses who otherwise could not obtain financing from a bank due to business type, a short length of time in business, or an insufficient credit history.  Loans include Business Loan (up to $50,000); Start-up Loan (up to $30,000) and Transition Business Loan (up to $30,000).  Terms include up to 60 months repayment period with interest rate ranging from 8.99% to 15.99% and a 3% to 5% closing cost.

Diamond Ventures

Diamond Ventures is a venture capital firm that is based in Atlanta, GA.  Their focus is in financing and developing relationship opportunities with minority or women firms that are involved in government contracting, and diversity suppliers to the Fortune 500 Companies.

Dream It Ventures

Dreamit Ventures and Comcast interactive Capital team up to run the Minority Entrepreneur Accelerator Program (MEAP).  The aim of the program is to finance and mentor start up minority companies to grow.  They provide up to $25,000 in financing.  Currently the program is offered in New York and New Jersey.

Monroe Capital

A venture capital company that invest in minority and women owned businesses with an income of at least $3 million.  Invest in companies that are in a broad range of industries.  Money can be used for re-capitalization, refinancing, acquisition and expansion.

Ho-Chunk Community Development Corp Small Business Loan Program

The microloan fund will be available in amounts up to $25,000 for small and start-up businesses that will create or retain at least one position for every $25,000 loaned. 

The intermediate loan fund will be available in amounts up to $150,000 to new or expanding businesses that will create or retain at least one position for every $35,000 borrowed.

Montana Indian Equity Fund The Montana Indian Equity Fund is a grant to assist a current Native American business or a new Native American business owner. The funds are available only to enrolled members of Montana’s federally recognized tribes in Montana and to enrolled members of the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe. Grant

National Minority Business Council (NMBC)

Offers equity financing to small minority and women owned businesses in the range of $2 million to $10 million.  However, your organization must have at least $3,000,000 in revenues and must have been profitable in the past year.

Phenomenelle AngelFunds

An early stage fund that invests in women and minority owned or managed businesses in Wisconsin and the Midwest.  Their focus is in Information Technology, BioTechnology/Life Sciences, Clean Technology, Consumer Goods/Services and Communications.

Sequoyah Fund

Provides training, technical assistance, and resources to support entrepreneurship, business start up and expansion, and community development in the seven far western counties of North Carolina.  If offers the following loans:  New Beginning Fund (up to $50,000 for start up costs); Business Enterprise Fund (up to $250,000 for retention or expansion; New Economy Fund (up to $250,000 for green, knowledge-based or creative economy businesses).

Focus on early stage and expansion stage financing of minority technology companies.  They participate in the nurturing and developing of the company.

The USDA targeted loan fund is geared towards women, African-Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, Hispanics, Asians, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.

Provides loans in the amount of $10,000 and above as a lump sum or revolving credit.  Use for on going operations, buy real estate or to buy equipment.  Up to 5 years repayment plans.  Most do not require collateral.
