Another way to sell more products is to offer retailers higher margins for selling more of your products/services.  This would encourage them to instruct their employees to promote your product/service over that of other competitors.

You have to keep in mind that all brands are competing for limited shelf space.  Giving the retailer an incentive to promote your product over someone else’s is a smart thing to do.

In order for retailers to sell your products in their stores they get a percentage of the sale price of that product.  This is the retailer's discount.  In order to encourage a retailer you can increase that discount rate.

Increasing the retailer discount rate will lower your profit margin.  You must be willing to make do with a smaller return on your product sales.

You have to be careful not to increase the price of the product in order to make up for the shortfall.  Doing so could turn off customers and decrease the amount of products that gets sold.
